The AdCouncil and AdoptUSKids came to us with one of the most challenging briefs we’ve ever faced: Find homes for the thousands of teens in foster care in danger of growing up without families or a place to call home. We set out to build something that was nuanced, emotionally impactful and baked in the reality of the issue. Our work was ultimately inspired by real families, real stories, and crafted with care. Their emotional insights became the beating heart of our campaign — one that showcased a stirring side of adoption few get to experience.
Mailbox - a house becoming a home
We doubled down on these emotional stories as we sought to show how these connections only grow deeper over time. We evolved our creative to take viewers on a multi-year journey in an intimate style that evokes scrolling through years of a family photo gallery in two stunning new films. In ‘Mailbox’, we told the story of a house becoming a home — following a single mother as she and her adopted teen bond while rebuilding the family mailbox.

We evolved our creative storytelling taking viewers on a multi-year journey in an intimate style that evokes scrolling through years of a family photo gallery in two stunning new films. ‘Dinner’ brought to life a relationship between an adopted teen and his new mother as they bonded over family dinner. After her son leaves for college, Mom is surprised to find her teen has prepared her a dinner.
